It's a shame we haven't seen Fringe Sunday for a few years, but when there's limited funds to go round.
Something new which captured the same spirit or met some of the same objectives could be good though: giving acts a showcase, providing some free entertainment, putting on a range of unsigned bands, etc. Whether that needs an independent company to do it, funded by the Council and sponsorship, or if the Fringe society should look to take it on I wouldn't like to say.
I know - more wishful thinking on my part, as obviously there are a whole host of obstacles I wouldn't be aware of such as budget, permissions etc. It seems a shame though as I discovered some of my favourite fringe acts (then obviously went to see their full show) through Fringe Sunday in the past, one being Camille O'Sullivan.
