The Challenge is open to ideas of all shapes, sizes and contexts. As long as your idea is what you think will make the festival city that little bit more amazing, it doesn’t matter what it’s about.
We do, however, have three themes to inspire you!
1. Greener festivals.
Edinburgh has the goal of becoming the world’s greenest festival city. We’re already involved in a wide range of environmental activities, including the Green Venue Initiative, which supports festival venues in reducing their environmental impacts. But what else can we all do to make the festivals greener?
2. Queues & crowds.
Queuing for shows is a natural part of the festival experience. But add up all the time spent waiting in queues across the year, and that’s a lot of our time! How can we can harness the power of the queues and crowds that arise during festival time — what can all that brain power do together?
3. Apps & technology.
Whether it’s mobile apps or innovative websites, there has never been as much exciting digital activity around the festivals as this year — take this Challenge, for example! But there is so much more potential, so what are your ideas for the next big digital thing?
